Due to Covid-19, most conferences that would have been in 2020 have been cancelled or postponed; among those who miss out the most are early career researchers: undergraduates, graduates, and postdoctoral fellows who now do not get the opportunity to present their research in a scientifically and socially enriching environment.
To remedy this, we—the organizers—decided to host our own virtual meeting to help early career researchers meet other likeminded people, and have the opportunity to present their work in a professional setting. The Not Intentional Seminars of Molecular Spectroscopy (NISMS) serves to try and connect chemists, spectroscopists, and physicists from many timezones, in a celebration of all things of frequency and intensity.
